Dubai Abulhoul (class of 2013 Al Mawakeb School Al Garhoud) is the youngest published Emirati author who wrote the fantasy novel Galagolia: The Hidden Divination in 2012. This grabbed the attention of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum who requested that a movie be made about it. We were fortunate enough to have her come back and give a workshop on how to be a children’s writer and illustrator to selected students from all three of our schools. Her insight and humility helped inspire these students to be the next generation of writers and illustrators.

Seek it, Commit to it, Embrace it…,” the team at AMSI Voices decided to launch an event titled “Who Are They? An Insight into our AMSI Voices Journey.” This initiative is a result of extensive feedback from both our students and alumni who wanted to further engage with one another after the conferences.

Monday 101’s is an initiative that gives students a chance to learn and incorporate particular skills as well as gain insight into certain industries/fields that they plan to pursue in the future. As the name suggests, Monday 101’s are conducted on Mondays and enable students to take part in different workshops. They are conducted by fellow AMSI alumni who volunteered their time to ensure students gain that valuable skill or insight into a particular field. These workshops took place in Al Mawakeb School Al Garhoud and Al Barsha as well as the International School of Arts and Sciences.

AMSI’s goal is to transform the lives of students by helping them embrace accountability, self-reliance and teamwork in their daily lives. It is from this belief that our second conference came to be, but this time, it targeted the young men at AMSI schools. The forum aimed to educate the students on how to prepare for their colleges and careers and how to face the challenges that come their way.
