In celebration of Teacher’s Day, AMSI hosted a dinner for more than 500 teachers from Al Mawakeb Schools in Barsha and Garhoud and the International School of Arts & Sciences (ISAS), in recognition of their commitment and dedication to AMSI students.
The event, which was held at the Bustan Rotana Hotel in Dubai, began with the UAE National Anthem followed by a heartfelt presentation from the Student Council. Speaking at the event, Dr. Abdulla Karam, Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), said: “Teachers are the life-blood of schools and their dedication to learning and development is invaluable to any institution. The consistent hard work and ongoing efforts of teachers in Dubai deserves our appreciation and respect.
Also in attendance from KHDA was Mrs. Jameela Al Muhairi, Chief of the Dubai Schools Inspection Bureau.
A presentation was played showcasing the wonderful memories and events that took place throughout AMSI’s 34 years and honoring the founding members who have been with AMSI for over 30 years. “At AMSI, we believe in the unrivaled power of communities to propagate knowledge. This year we celebrate the achievements of our educators who, from within the essence of their vocation, bring forth their best. Like candles burning unmatched in the darkest hours of the longest nights, they outlast the times and communities are reborn,” said Mr. Adonis Nasr, CEO of AMSI.”
During the dinner, students celebrated their teachers by presenting a video highlighting their work, together with special messages recorded by students from all grade levels. All faculty members received gifts in acknowledgment of their contributions. This act of giving was AMSI’s modest reaffirmation of the crucial role that teachers’ play in guiding the students, strengthening the communities, and building the nation. The event was celebrated further through musical performances by ISAS’s school band and choir. ”
“It was an incredibly touching gesture and we want to thank everyone involved from KHDA, the AMSI Board and Management, and our dear students. As teachers, we believe we have an educational and formative message that we try to imprint on our students, and we will continue to aspire to that.” said one of the teachers. Every year on March 9, AMSI honors its teachers by giving them a day off to mark Teacher’s Day. It’s AMSI’s way of showing its appreciation for their teachers’ endless efforts and dedication to AMSI students and AMSI schools. ”
